WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR GARDEN DAYS – JUNE 17, 18, 19, 2016

Beginning with National Garden Day, always the Friday before Father’s Day, Garden Days is a fun-filled, three-day celebration of the vital role that gardens and gardening play in our communities and our lives.

Garden Days is an opportunity for Canadians to get outside in their own garden, visit their favourite public garden, stop in at their local garden centre or travel to a nearby garden destination to enjoy their favorite garden experience.

Garden Days is Canada’s coast to coast to coast, three-day celebration of our National Garden Day which is held annually on the Friday before Father’s Day.

The program's objective is to draw attention to our cultural garden landscape, history and innovations and to underscore the importance of public and private gardens, the values of home gardening and the promotion of environmental stewardship.

Garden Days is an opportunity for you to organize a special activity or promotion to:

  1. Celebrate your garden experience offering, its history and innovations
  2. Counteract plant blindness syndrome by bringing awareness to:
    • the importance of public and home gardens
    • the values of home gardening
    • all the benefits related to gardens and gardening
  3. Interpret and develop our unique Canadian garden aesthetic
  4. Promote sustainable garden practices and communities

This three-day program of activities and events is for gardening enthusiasts, families, schools and tourists alike. Garden Days is an opportunity for Canadians to enjoy their own garden, visit or take part in their favourite garden experience, get inspired at their local garden centre or travel to a nearby destination to enjoy their favourite garden.

To celebrate Garden Days, we invite you to organize something special at your Garden Centre or in your community.  It could be as simple as a 15% discount in your garden centre, a complimentary cup of coffee at your Café, or a special event you'd like to hold over the Father's Day weekend -- it's entirely up to you.
